Celebrations Snack
BIRTHDAY / CELEBRATIONS:
If you are planning on sending in any food items for your child's birthday or other celebration please refer to the following:
Please reach out to your child's teacher in advance; preferably at least two (school) days in advance.
All items must be store-bought and unopened.
The package must have a nutrition label on it. "Peanut/Tree Nut Free"
Treats will be served during the last 10 minutes of their lunchtime.
Goody/Treat bags (or the like) must be given to the teacher to distribute at the end of the day.
Due to allergies or other medical reasons; treats may only be distributed to your child's class/teacher ONLY.
Please take a look at the Acceptable Celebration Treats list.
Please note: No large, mini, and/or regular-size frosted cupcakes. They are not a good choice since our students with nut allergies cannot eat them, and their calorie count exceeds the amount allowed by HCS policy. Also, the kids generally don't eat all of them so they get thrown away.
Allergies differ from classroom to classroom so check with your student's teacher prior to bringing snacks. We want every student to be able to enjoy the treat! Also, ALL treats must be dropped off in the main office prior to the beginning of the school day so the Nurse can check them for potential allergens. The teacher will distribute the treats during lunch and the students will eat them in the cafeteria. There are "no in-classroom" birthday celebrations.
NO HOMEMADE TREATS OR PRIVATE BAKERY TREATS ARE ALLOWER. ALL TREATS BROUGHT IN MUST BE IN ORIGINAL SEALED PACKAGING WITH THE NUTRITIONAL AND ALLERGY INFORMATION CLEARLY LABELED.
Thanks for your cooperation in keeping all of our students safe and healthy.
