Administration

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction as the newly appointed principal of Mary S. Peake Elementary School! I am honored to join a school community that ensures academic excellence for every child, every day, whatever it takes.

I come to you with 19 years of experience as an educator in urban and suburban settings from the elementary and middle school levels. My experiences have helped me prepare students to become college, career, and life-ready as they navigate the pathways of the Portrait of a Hampton Graduate. I have spent the last five years in the Hampton City School District as an educator, instructional leader, and assistant principal.

I wholeheartedly believe that ALL students can learn and achieve at high levels. My goal is to ensure that our children receive a world-class education in a safe and nurturing environment every day. I am committed to working in partnership with our families, staff, and community to support children in reaching their maximum potential.

I look forward to our first school year together and growing with our incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive parents and community. Go Mighty Oaks!

With Mighty Oak Pride,

Mr. Rodney Richardson, Jr.

Principal

My name is Mrs. Henderson-Hopkins, and I am humbled and excited to join Mary Peake Elementary as the Assistant Principal. I am committed to supporting the scholars, Mr.Hicks, and the Mary Peake team and families as we work to accomplish our mutual goal - academic success! I am looking forward to continuing in the Mary Peake tradition of fostering an environment that is conducive to learning and growing emotionally, socially, mentally, and academically.  Although we may face challenges that cause us to bend and sway, we will remain standing and firmly rooted like Mighty Oaks. The scholars should know and see in our actions that we will always be the strong base upon which they can depend and grow! I look forward to “growing” with each and every one of you! Go Mighty Oaks!

Mrs. Henderson-Hopkins
